i have recently had the opportunity to be a part of some great meetings in oklahoma, mississippi, louisiana, and texas.  it was also a challenging time for me academically as i came to the end of my phd classes and found myself facing comprehensive exams.  i am now happy to report that i passed both of my exams. what a tremendous weight off of my shoulders! now, i am officially abd (all but dissertation). furthermore, i am happy to report that southwestern seminary has extended  

a call for me to teach preaching. i accepted the appointment to teach while i also work on my dissertation. jennifer and i also have moved our church membership to macarthur blvd baptist church in irving, tx. we are so excited to be a part of a multiethnic church that is on mission for God. please continue to pray for us as jennifer gets ready for another busy semester of work at the seminary. also, besides starting my teaching duties at the school in august, i also have teaching and preaching meetings scheduled as well.
